Canmore Campus
Welcome to Canmore Campus - Launching in Fall 2010!
Our newest church plant is our Canmore Campus, planned to launch in the Fall of 2010. This campus is part of the Green Light Initiative, which we believe is the dream of God for the First Assembly community. Our goal has been to plant five new Kingdom Communities (churches or an expression thereof) over a period of three years. The hope is that these communities will have tremendous impact on the emerging generation.
We have been seeking and asking of the Holy Spirit to show us opportunities that exist, and we feel that the community of Canmore is a place we are called to. With His guidance and direction, and with the assistance of human and fincancial resources, we are going to be planting an exciting, dynamic, life giving community of faith in Canmore. Our goal, through the Green Light Initiative, is to diversify our model of "church". We have been looking at options like multi-sites, satellites, autonomous church plants and hybrids. We don't want to be not confined to any one model, and we always try to maintain fluidity when putting together these communities.
The Canmore Campus will be led by a great team of bi-vocational leaders; people who are marketplace ministers with a desire to lead a community of people. They will remain in their current careers while also pastoring and leading this new group of believers in Canmore. Our team is made up of four sucessful graduates from the Sanctus Paths To Leadership school here at First Assembly. Jamie Buhler is our Campus Pastor, and he will lead the Canmore team along with support from Vince and Renee Berdan, and Stephen Newbury. The Canmore Campus team will be supported by First Assembly.
We are very excited about this new campus, and we look forward to sharing more information with you as we move closer to the launch date. Our ultimate goal is to create a place that is an organic gathering of God's people, and to allow the Holy Spirit to drive the ministry that will take place there.
