On every level--social, political, economic and environmental--changes are impacting every corner of the globe. There is a sense of restlessness in the hearts of people all over the world. One person at a time, one sacrifice at a time, whether a little or a lot, there is no limit to what can be accomplished when we choose to respond. First Assembly is responding by partnering with the following people and their ministries.
Dr. Chris Brooks, LIFELINE MALAWI - Bringing hope and healing to the people of Malawi through medical clinics in the rural villages of Ngodzi and Kasese. Dr. Brooks established Lifeline Malawi ten years ago and now the clinics bring medical help to thousands of people who would otherwise have no access to adequate medical care. Lifeline also is a centre for providing treatment to those with HIV/AIDS and helping educate those in surrounding areas on prevention.
Ngodzi Pastors, Malawi - Through Lifeline Malawi we support seven pastors of small churches around the area of Ngodzi. These pastors have very little income to do a big job. We want to make sure their families are being cared for, while they care for others.
Lisa Poulsen, HANDS @ WORK, South Africa - The heart of Hands at Work is to mobilize the African church to reach the continent's most vulnerable children, to reach 100,000 orphaned children that would otherwise not be reached. They want to make sure children are receiving basic health, education and food security. Lisa brings her accounting skills to work by helping process funds to where it is most needed, as well as training locals in each country to do their finance work.
Wendy Dezan, RAINBOWS OF HOPE INTERNATIONAL - Wendy served in South Africa for eight years working with ministries reaching out to children-at-risk in that region. This past year, Wendy re-located to their head office in USA and now oversees all of Rainbows ministries to children around the globe. Rainbows ministers to children in crisis, promising them hope in Jesus Christ through His Word and the holistic service of His Church.
Marko & Pauline Hakkola, WYCLIFFE, Mali - Over the past eight years, the Hakkolas have immersed themselves in the language and culture of the Bozo people in the Muslim country of Mali, in West Africa. Their goal is to provide the Bible in both oral and written forms to the Bozo people in their own language. There are currently less than 10 known believers amongst the Bozo. We are praying alongside the Hakkolas that when the Word is released in their heart language they will hear the cry of God’s heart to be in relationship with them.
C & D, Restricted Access Nation - Can you believe that there are corners of our world that are shut off from the Gospel of Jesus Christ? Some would say that it is impossible or too dangerous to go to these places. C & D believe that God said go to every nation and every people no matter what the cost. In 2008, they re-located their family to the other side of the world and are working at establishing relationships and learning language, so that they may share the good news of Jesus. Pray that they may live.

JJ & Rachel, and Gail, N. Africa - Working in a nation where Christians are in the minority, JJ & Rachel’s goals are training local pastors, assist in muliplying churches that will expand the Kingdom of God in that region. They have also started a local business to make diapers. They help provide local employment, minister to the workers, as well as use the profits to sponsor baby clinics in the area. Gail is working alongside them to help teach English at the Bible College so these leaders may get access to the many leadership resources that aren’t available in their own language.
Greg & Lynne Swinamer, NEXT LEVEL INTERNATIONAL - Based in the UK, Greg works with NLI to empower a whole new generation of radical leaders to equip, transform and expand the Church in Europe. Greg is involved in church planting and
leadership training to areas that desperately need to have a local witness of Jesus, through a local church.
Ian Green, NLI & PROTON FOUNDATION - The Proton Foundation is an organisation that seeks to see positive cultures created in our world through community, business and educational projects. Ian Green is the founder of Proton Foundation and Next Level International.
Czech Republic Leadership Training & Church Planting, NLI - We have partnered with NLI to help train leaders in the nation of Czech and to plant a church in a town where there is no evangelic witness. Through participating in leadership training conferences, financial support of a church planter, and sending teams, First Assembly will be involved in the work of Jesus Christ in transforming people’s lives in the Czech Republic.
