WORSHIP ARTS

Purpose: To create an atmosphere of powerful worship at First Assembly Church through the various aspects of Music and the Arts.  Healthy Worshippers Creating Healthy Worship Environments!

Musicians
Having been a part of First Assembly for a minimum of 3 consecutive months, you will be auditioned with the Worship Pastor in order to ascertain your level of skill and ability.  Upon acceptance, you will rehearse with your team on the Thursday before your scheduled Sunday at 7pm at the designated campus.  Call times on Sundays are 8am at Elbow Dr. and 8:30am at Freedom House (Dream Centre Campus).  We serve our 3 Sunday gatherings and Monday night Tehillah services.  Other various ministry opportunities include our Wednesday night Converge Worship Experience, and Weekend Ministry Outreach trips to various churches across the province.  These teams are hand-selected based upon faithfulness and excellence in the Team.

Vocalists
Having been a part of First Assembly for a minimum of 3 consecutive months, you will be auditioned with the Worship Pastor in order to ascertain your level of skill and ability.  All vocalists are committed to the Choir Team, which ministers monthly, and then selected based on faithfulness and skill to sing as a backing vocalist on a second Worship Team.  Choir rehearses the Wednesday prior to the scheduled Sunday at 7pm, and your secondary Team rehearses the Thursday prior to the scheduled Sunday at 7pm. We serve our 3 Sunday gatherings and Monday night Tehillah services.  Other various ministry opportunities include our Wednesday night Converge Worship Experience, and Weekend Ministry Outreach trips to various churches across the province.  These teams are hand-selected based upon faithfulness and excellence in the Team.

Dancers and Artists
This is an exciting new area of the Arts that we would like to build.  Our expressions of worship are vast, and therefore we are looking for gifted men and women of God who love to express worship beautifully through dance and painting.  Opportunities for ministry include special presentations for Themed Sundays such as Easter or Christmas, and live painting during worship times on the platform.  Having been a part of First Assembly for a minimum of 3 consecutive months, you will be auditioned with the Worship Pastor in order to ascertain your level of skill and ability.  We will work together to see these teams developed in the coming months.

FAQ’s

Q.  What kind of time requirements would be expected?
A.  Attendance to the rehearsal prior to your scheduled Sunday is mandatory.  If you are unable to make your practice, your spot will be filled for that weekend.  Please let the worship dept. know of your intended absence.

Q.  Can I only serve at the campus that I attend?
A.  Yes you can! However, we want you to know that you are part of community wide team and might be asked from time to time to fill in at another campus.

Q.  Am I required to serve at Tehillah Monday?
A.  No, however, if you think you would like to be involved we would love to have you serve in an area of need, wherever that may be.

MEDIA PRODUCTION

Purpose: To facilitate impacting and powerful worship experiences for First Assembly through the use of technology.

Audio & Lighting
As a member of our audio team, you will be trained to offer audio and lighting support to FA worship gatherings and functions.  You would be trained in using state of the art sound reinforcement technology.  You will work closely with our Worship Arts & Media Production department and would be instrumental in providing a powerful worship experience.  This team also supports our Tehillah Ministry.

Media
As a member of our media team, you will be trained in the area of visual presentation.  You will be working with the latest visual media technology.  You would be offering visual support FA worship gatherings and functions.  You would be responsible for recording the sermons and rendering them into usable files for Podcasting purposes.  You will work closely with our Worship Arts & Media Production department and would be instrumental in providing a powerful worship experience.  This ministry also supports our Tehillah Ministry.

Video
This is an area that is currently being developed.  As a member of our video team, there are many opportunities available. Camera Operator, Capture, Web Streaming, DVD Production, Video Director.  This team would be responsible for capturing and broadcasting FA worship gatherings.  This team would work closely with the Worship Arts & Media Production Department and Pastoral Team.

FAQ’s

Q.  What kind of time requirements would be expected?
A.  Based on our current volunteer roster, you would need to be available once every 5 weeks.  The week that you are scheduled, you would be required to be at a Thursday night rehearsal (7:00 – 8:30pm) and Sunday mornings.  This is for those who serve on both audio and media teams.

Q.  Can I only serve at the campus that I attend?
A.  Yes you can!  However, we want you to know that you are a part of a community wide team and might be asked to fill in at another campus from time to time.

Q.  Am I required to serve at Tehillah Monday?
A.  No, however, if you think you would like to be involved, we would love to have you.  You can volunteer only at Tehillah if you would like.  We are flexible!

Q.  Do I need to have experience?

A.  No, we will provide all the training.
